FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
WHAT IS PILATES?
Pilates is a low-impact form of exercise that focuses on core strength, posture, flexibility, balance, and controlled movement. It can help you build strength and body awareness while improving overall mobility. Here at SALT, we utilize the Reformer, springs at our Salt Walls, and various props to meet these goals.
IS PILATES SUITABLE FOR BEGINNERS?
Yes, Pilates is suitable for all fitness levels! We suggest talking to a member of our team so they can guide you to the right place to start.
WHAT SHOULD I WEAR?
Wear comfortable fitted workout clothing that allows you to move freely. Grip socks are required; we sell them in the studio if you need to purchase a pair.
WHAT SHOULD I BRING?
Just yourself and grip socks! We provide all the equipment. We also encourage you to hydrate so bring a bottle with you and fill it up at our Flowater station.
IS THERE ANYTHING I NEED TO DO BEFORE MY FIRST CLASS?
A Liability Waiver will be sent to you that needs to be submitted prior to class. If you booked your own class, you likely agreed to our Cancellation Policy at the time of booking. If you booked through the studio, this policy will also need to be signed.
Please also let our team know in advance if you have any conditions or recent injuries that limit your movement or require a modification. We want to make sure everyone has a safe and memorable first experience!
HOW EARLY SHOULD I ARRIVE?
We ask that you arrive 10 minutes early for your first class so your instructor has ample time to get to know you and introduce you to your equipment. If it won’t be your first class, still give yourself time to get settled in before class starts.
WHAT CAN I EXPECT FROM MY FIRST CLASS?
Expect a supportive environment and a thoughtfully designed class guided by a certified instructor. If you have specific questions, don’t hesitate to contact us!
WHERE DO I PARK?
Our Marketplace has plenty of complementary parking directly in front of and around the studio. Depending on the time of day, availability can be limited so leave yourself enough time to find a space.
WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?
Classes must be cancelled at least 12 hours before the start time to avoid a late cancellation fee or loss of class credit. No-shows will be charged. Please check our full policy for details.
CAN I DO PILATES IF I HAVE INJURIES?
Yes! Pilates is low-impact and highly adaptable. Please inform your instructor of any injuries or limitations before class so we can offer appropriate modifications. We also offer private sessions for a completely personalized experience.
IS PILATES SAFE DURING PREGNANCY / POSTPARTUM?
Yes! Pilates can be safe and beneficial during pregnancy and postpartum with proper modifications. We recommend receiving clearance from your healthcare provider and also discussing your status with one of our team members prior to booking. Private Sessions are often recommended when doing Pilates while pregant, so we can help you safely understand what movements to avoid.
